Frequently asked questions
When is the session fee due?
A. Half of the session fee is due one week before the scheduled shoot. This also acts as a retainer fee for your session. The remaining balance is due after the shoot and before editing.
How much do the edited photos cost?
A. Individual edited photos are priced at $10 per picture, and each package comes with included images (specified under investments).
I do not sell raw, unedited images.
Is there a cancellation fee?
A. While there is no cancellation fee, if the session is called off within one week of the scheduled shoot, I will retain the session fee.
I'm also not heartless! If there was a legitimate reason to cancel the shoot last minute, I'm willing to work with you!
How do you handle rescheduling?
A. If you ask to reschedule more than a week ahead of the shoot date, then there is no fee or penalty. The only thing to keep in mind is that my availability may change!
If you're seeking to reschedule within a week of the shoot, then there is an added $30 fee to your second payment.
If we decide to reschedule due to weather, there is no fee or penalty. Also, similar to cancellation, if you have a legitimate reason to reschedule within a week of the shoot, I'm willing to work with you!
What forms of payment do you accept?
A. You will be emailed an invoice for each stage payment. This can be paid directly online with a credit card or PayPal, though I also accept cash and check.
When and how will we get our photos?
A. You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within a maximum of 3 weeks (possibly less, depending on the season and your type of session). You'll be able to purchase and download your photos, create a favorites list, and even share with family and friends!
Your photos will be available in the gallery for one month, after which the gallery will be taken down. If you need photos available after one month, contact me.
How many pictures will we receive?
A. For a one hour photo shoot, expect to receive between 30 and 60 photos to choose from! I will always choose quality over quantity. Each package has an included amount of pictures, with extra images available for purchase at $10 per image.
For things like mini shoots and themed sessions, I'll specify the amount of photos you should expect.
How much retouching do you do?
A. My main focus is your natural beauty. Most of my editing is just to enhance the photo - lightening shadows, warming the photo, and adding my signature moody style. I also remove background distractions, like signs, buildings, and unwanted people.
When it comes to retouching, I keep it very light. I'm more than happy to remove blemishes, lighten teeth, and brighten under eye bags if you request that, but I'm not going to smooth away your features until you don't look like yourself anymore! If you're wanting intensive retouching, like slimming, wrinkle removal, or adding makeup in post, I'm afraid I'm not the photographer for you.
Can I buy physical prints through you?
A. I do not sell physical prints. All photos will be giving to you digitally through my online gallery. Of course, each sale of digital images comes with rights to print.
Are your packages taxed?
A. Since I don't offer any physical products, my services are not taxed.
How do you prefer to communicate?
A. My preferred methods are text and email. I also respond very quickly to Facebook Messenger!
What rights do I have to the digital photos?
A. You have the right to print and post the images to social media whenever you want. However, I will not sell the copyright of the photos to you. You may also not sell your images for a profit or publish your images without the written consent of CJ Taylor Photography, LLC.
What if I lose my images?
A. The client gallery will remain available to you for one month after it is published, and will then be archived. If you lose your images, I will reupload the gallery onto this website. However, the photos will need to be bought again at $10 per image.
I strongly suggest you make at least one copy of your downloaded images and back it up, or share it with family and friends, in case your computer crashes or your digital storage is corrupted.
